A deficiency that’s far from rare

Iron deficiency is the most widespread nutrient deficiency worldwide : it affects over 2 billion people.

WHAT ARE THE FACTORS THAT CAUSE IRON DEFICIENCY ?

Iron deficiency is one of the most common deficiencies globally and can have multiple causes. It often results from an insufficient dietary intake, poor absorption, or recurrent blood loss (heavy menstruation, bleeding).

Chronic inflammation, B-vitamin deficiencies, or high intake of iron absorption inhibitors such as phytates (grains, legumes, seeds) and polyphenols (tea, coffee, wine, chocolate) can also impair iron absorption. Identifying these factors is key to tailoring effective supplementation :

  • Nutritional deficiencies or the presence of antinutritional factors (phytates, phosphates, starch)
  • Blood loss / hemorrhage (e.g. menstruation)
  • Deficiency in vitamins (B2, B6, B8, B9, B12, E, copper) leading to reduced erythropoiesis (red blood cell production in the bone marrow)
  • Malabsorption (leaky gut, celiac disease, parasites, unbalanced microbiota)

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF ANEMIA ?

Anemia directly impacts the blood’s ability to transport oxygen. It usually presents as persistent fatigue, poor concentration, headaches, or unusual paleness.

In more advanced cases, it can cause heart palpitations, tinnitus, or shortness of breath with exertion. In pregnant women, it increases the risk of premature birth or low birth weight.

In children, it may be linked to attention deficits or hyperactivity (ADHD). Untreated chronic anemia can also impair cognitive functions and weaken the immune system.

Après avoir testé pas mal de complément de fer en tout genre (spiruline, douter...), celui là me convient parfaitement et fait une différence significative! Sans effets secondaires.

Vitafer est le seul complément qui régule mon fer de façon optimale .Mon taux est revenu quasiment à la normale assez rapidement et je fais régulièrement une petite cure dès que le besoin se fait sentir.
